In November 2002, the Group agreed to purchase Darenas, a UK national distributor of cleaning and hygiene supplies, and 10 completed shortly thereafter.
It acquired Eastern Paper which supplies supermarkets, redistributors and food processors in the Maritimes thus completing the Group’s geographic coverage of Canada.
In late June 2002 the Group acquired Kenco in Seattle. Kenco is a redistribution business which strengthened the position of the Group’s business in the Pacific Northwest of the US.
In early November 2002 Lesnie’s, a distributor of supplies to food processors and retailers based in Sydney, Australia, was acquired. This expanded the Group’s position in Australasia.

In a move to strengthen the Group’s position supplying the US food processor industry it purchased Packers, a long established supplier to the beef and pork processing industries based in Omaha, Nebraska.
In November 2001 the Group further expanded in Europe with the acquisition of W A Blyth, a distributor of personal protection equipment and cleaning and hygiene supplies in Wales and South West England.
